Run Time Engine Web Service

Solved!
Go to solution
Hello Gents, Anybody knows why I can't access to VI (*.exe) on remote PC. On remote PC has been installed only standard 8.6 Run Time Engine. Do I need to install additional parts like NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Web Server or/and LV Web Server? And is it possible to communicate through this using RTE on both sites?

Why you can't able to access it?

Is there any error popping out. Please attach a screenshot if so. This will help narrow down the issue.

Thanks,

Mathan

Yea, there is more you need to do. Have a look at the following document:

How Do I Enable LabVIEW Web Server or Use Remote Panels With an Executable Built in LabVIEW?

I'm trying connecting to VI on remote PC with LabVIEW installed, from PC with Run-Time Engine installed only. Is it needed additional installations like NI LabVIEW Run-Time Engine Web Server? Anna

No, you don't need anything more on the pc with run-time engine. As Mathan asked, are you getting any errors?

Have you used the web publishing tool on the pc which has labview installed and the vi running on it? Have a look at this document Publishing VIs on the Web. In the Web Publishing Tool, you have the option to start the web server and will be given the option to choose the web directory AND will be shown the URL to connect to the web server from a browser of any other machine.

Sure, with LabVIEW installed it works properly. But questions is "how I can to view VI interface on PC with RTE installed via Web browser in case when this VI has been uploaded on this PC?".

It is mean that we are using Web Server for this. Are you sure standard LabVIEW Run-Time Engine contains this?  And as I’m understood I need to copy *.html files to somewhere…. on this PC? Thank you for support and advices 🙂

Ok...I think I understand what you are trying to do. You will need to install the web server and the NI License Manager. To include the both of these in the installer for the application, place a check mark in the NI LabVIEW Web Server and Remote Panel License Support check box in the Advanced Installer Settings dialog box. When you run the installer, it should install both on the target computer along with the application. You will, also, need to follow the instructions that are mentioned in the link that I posted above.
