Parallel port digital i/o

I have a circuitry where I am trying to read the output of a ADC. This requires 8 pins (D0-D7) of the parallel port. Besides this, I also need to send logic 1s (and 0s) to a series of other chips to enable or select their individual functions. For this purpose, I require another 7 pins of the parallel port. I hope someone can answer my doubts about whether which pins of the parallel port (other than 18-25 which are ground pins) that I should or not use. Pins 2-9 are reserved for the data to be received by the parallel port from the ADC.

How can I individually state which pins I need to send logic 1 and which to send logic 0? Please advise. I've looked through almost all the questions (and their solutions) posted but none matches my require
ments. I am using LabWindows/CVI 5 and Win 98.
