Moving beyond AVI files for reading and writing movies in LabVIEW?

Hi all,

As far as I can tell, LabVIEW only natively supports AVI files with various codecs.

Is there a reason for that?

I have colleagues that prefer to use .wmv, .mpg and .mov files and it would be great if I could output data in those formats.

What solutions are available? I specifically want to be able to write videos and edit them on a frame-by-frame basis.

Hi,

Do you have Vision Development Module?

Maybe this topic would help.

Indeed I think that VDM can only generate and read AVI files, but maybe you could use ActiveX to read/write other types of file that might not a a breaze though...

Oh, see this too.

Hope this helps
