NXT software update for windows 7?

Absolute 100% complete newbie here on Robots. 

Opened up an NXT Mindstorms NXT kit (which I bought years ago but never opened) to begin from scratch and learn.  Built the first 3-wheel robot model and went to install the cd so I can plug the robot into my computer for what I am guessing is some type of download that will program the unit to move(???) and the cd says it is only for WinXP and I have Windows 7.  THus it will not install and so I am stuck unless anyone knows of a specific download that takes care of this, i.e., the software for NXT v.1.1 but for WIndows 7.  Plmk of any tips/help as I really wish to get into this hobby but I am stuck here right from the very beginning!

I was able to run the NXT 1.1 installer on Windows 7 when forcing it to run in XP compatibility mode and Run As Administrator based off of this Windows Comminity Page.

How embarassing that I forgot about compatiability mode!  Thanks very much for the tip Danny - it installed just fine - now I need to read up on how to work the NXT brain module prior to plugging it into my computer for the software!  Baby steps for me but thanks again!
