Wireless V-Link USB Data into LabView "STUDENT PROJECT"

Hi everyone, we have wireless sensors manufactured by Micro Strain  (V-link) to read strain gages.  It has a USB base station that plugs in and brings in the data from the transmitter.  How do I get this data in real-time into labview??    Are there detailed instructions anywhere or can someone give step by step instructions??  Micro Strain is NO HELP 😞       I'm fairly new with LabView and need help!

Thank you for any advice/information!!

Hi Kevin,

I think I might have found the product page for the wireless sensor you were refering to: http://www.microstrain.com/sg-link.aspx  In the overview section they talk about a Software Development Kit and executables for numerous programming environments, including LabVIEW 7.1.  Do you have access to this Software Development Kit and would this allow you to interface in LabVIEW with these sensors?  You will need a driver to communicate with your USB device and LabVIEW, and for general USB devices, this can be done following the steps in the USB Instrument Control Tutorial.  To do this you must have a good understanding of the commands/messages that your USB device sends/receives - so a manual or reference of these commands would be required.  Hope this helps!
