USB Card Current consumption with different conections

Hello,

I am using a NI USB-6212 Card with a Win10 (64Bit) Computer. I have observed and measured that, depending on the connection, the card has different consumptions (performing the same operations).

With a USB A/B cable 136mA, with a USB 3.0 cable through a feedthrough 180mA and connected to a USB HUB 200mA. I have also tried charging the USB port with other devices in parallel. The current consumption drops to 100mA (obviously due to the limitations of the usb port).

In all cases the voltage has not dropped below 4.7V and the board has been able to operate correctly.

Why these changes in current consumption?
Can they influence the performance of the board (apparently not...)?

Thanks
