GPIB card in not recognized by LabVIEW

Hi,

My GPIB card was working fine last Friday, but it looks like something happened to it over the weekend as when I tried using it with labVIEW on Monday, I got an error which read something like "error in communicating with GPIB card". So I checked my connection and restarted labVIEW, but I repeatibly got the same error.

I even removed the card and tried reinstalling the drivers and reinstalling the card in the PCI slot. I also tried using a different PCI slot but it still won't recognize. Thw card is supposed to be plug and play. Windows recognizes it as simple communications controller.

I also reinstalled labVIEW thinking that it might help for some reason, but it didn't help. I purchased the card in August 2006. Please guide me on what I should do to get it running again.

Did you reinstall LabVIEW including the driver cd's?
or just LabVIEW.

You best can go to MAX to see what devices are available.

I reinstalled everything, including the drivers CD that LabVIEW comes with. No the GPIB card doesn't show up in MAX automatically.

Hi,

You should check and see if Windows is recognizing the card properly. Go to Device Manager found in the Control Panel>>System then choose the Hardware tab and Device Manager. Your GPIB card should be listed under "National Instruments GPIB Interfaces" this should have a National Instrument Icon "N" in front of it. If this is not where it is then you may need to uninstall it and reinstall it. If it is here is there a yellow exclamation point on it? If so please double click on it and find out what the error code is. This will help us figure out what is going wrong. If it isn't here at all you might try placing the GPIB card in another PCI slot. It would also help if I new what specific type of GPIB Card you have, a part number would be very helpful.
