GPIB-ENET security - not at all?

I just learn from NI, that there is no security in those ENET interfaces.
One just need to know its IP address (just scan the grid!) to gain full control.

By the same token, there is also no security
on most networked devices - that is why corporations invest in firewalls
etc.
