Remotely Connecting a cFP-CB-3

Hi,

Is it OK to connect a cFP-CB-3 through a 30 or 40 foot cable to a backplane (with a TC-120 module & cFP-1808 backplane)?  It seems this would be neater than running separate TC wires.

Albert,

You can give it a try, but I would not recommend it.  The signal degradation over that distance would be fairly significant and will cause poor data readings.   The same thing could also be said about running TC wires over that distance.  A better approach might be to read the signals, amplify them, and then wire them back to the 1808.
