Can I connect to my FP-1001 from my PC's RS-232 port?

I have a FP-1001 which is the RS-485 port connection. I only have a RS-232 port on my computer. Is it possible to connect to the FP-1001 from my RS-232 port without having to go through a FP-1000 unit or purchase a separate RS-485 card?

Can you use RS-232 to RS-485 dongles?

You should be able to use an RS-232/RS-485 adapter just fine.
