Switching modes during Game Mode tab on the FCS (Archived)

Update: This discussion applies to Issues from the 2010 FTC season and is no longer relevant for current FTC competition software.

During the Game mode part of the FCS, how does one "switch between" the Auto and  Tele-Op modes?

We start out of the game mode after selecting the Auto mode on the FCS,  and on the brick, we select the program chooser.  The setup and developmental tabs are disable at this time.

The robot does not run in the Auto mode within the 30 secs; then when we go to the Tele-Op mode on the FCS, the computer block diagram works but the brick is still on the Auto mode and has not switched over to the Tele-Op mode.  The team can run either selected program in the developmetnal mode tab. So, .................

During the match, after the auto mode, does the team engage the FCS in Teleop and touch the brick on the field?

There is something missing here; please advise us.   There is also something in the Auto mode we need to populate to tell the wheels to move during the match; I do not see that in the vi program.

Thanks,

Team #2975

You shouldn't have to physically touch the brick between game modes.  In the FCS are  you immediately switch between modes are are you pausing between periods.  This is controlled with the Pause Between Periods? check-box in the setup tab.  In normal competition you will be pausing between periods; e.g. leave this box checked.  When doing this do you see the same behavior?

Thanks,

Mark
