Happy holidays: DQMH 7.0 released into the wild!

Ho, ho, ho! Just in time for the holly days, the Consortium has a present for y'all! 

 

We worked extra, extra hard to get this release out the door before Christmas, and here we are: As of today, you can find all packages of our latest release on VIPM.io and in your VI Package Manager.

Most important updates in a nutshell:

1. Scripting of Helper Loops
2. Private/Local Request Events
3. Brand-new documentation platform
4. Custom timeout for events
5. More screen estate (wider EHL and MHL)
6. ...and so many more!!

You can always find the full list of changes in the Release Notes, published on our DQMH wiki. 

We do hope that you'll enjoy the new features just as much as we do! Please do not hesitate to give feedback, both for things you like and for stuff that needs improving.

Very cool features! I like the helper loop scripting and privately scoped events.

One comment I have: it doesn't seem possible to have a privately scoped "request and wait for reply" event. I have had some cases where I want the Message Handling Loop to request some data from the Helper Loop, which I think I'd want to be privately scoped.

FYI: We deliberately decided to not implement scripting of private/local requests with replies, as this design could potentially lead to deadlocks or stalled loops.

FYI, we have released v7.0.1 - the first hotfix for DQMH 7.0 - and it's available now via VIPM.
