Hi. i am new to diadem. My first impression is that it is interesting.
I have some questions regarding number of scales.
So, how many scales on Y axis can Diadem support ? Of course, one time axis.
I mean, i have an excel file (text) with 6 columns, one for time. Is it possible to have one graph with 5 scales, each scale for one signal (column) ?
The scale limit for Excel is 2 (two).
Thanks.

Hi dsasorin,
I believe the limit in DIAdem is 20 separate Y axes. The easiest way to see this is in DIAdem VIEW, where you can click on the "Y-Axis" icon and choose the bottom option to automatically use a Y axis for each curve. DIAdem REPORT can also display 20 separate Y axes per graph, but it's a little trickier to configure.

Hello dsasorin,
I went ahead and made an example with 10 Y-axes on the same X-axis with color coded axis labels. Brad already correctly mentioned that 20 is the limit, but as you can see, 10 is already using a lot of space for the axes vs the actual graphs, although I could have made these a little tighter I guess.
Not the prettiest report ever, but it should get the point across. It took me less than 5 minutes to create this example after I had decided what data to use ... If you make a template, it will take less than 2 seconds to create this for multiple data sets that have a similar data structure ...
Let us know if you have additional questions,

many thanks to all of you.
it is clear then. This is what i was hoping to obtain from DIADEM.
I will give it a try.
Thank you.

Hello dsasorin,
Just a few hints that I hope will make this easier for you:
In REPORT, select the "Multiple Y-axis" templates for 2D axis systems (see image below for 3 Y-axis, it's easy to add more if needed):
Once you have the axis system on the screen, it's easy to assign channels to channels by dragging the channels directly onto the axis where you wish to display the data, see below - this works for each axis, and you can drag multiple curves onto the same axis of course.
You can double click on the axis label or numbers to change the color of the label/numbers to be the same color as the actual graph, see screen shot below:
Hope this helps a little, it should make the graph creation a lot easier I hope ...
Have a great weekend,
Otmar

Hi guys, I am wanting to use this function as well but I have one BIG problem that I cant solve.
I want to use multiple Y-axis, with seval signals that have quite different scales. When I load in channels to the Mutiple axis 2-D graph, there seems to be only two ways to SCALE each channel. Thats is, either all the same, OR DIAdem optimised.
What I want is to scale each channel manually within the same 2-D plot. how the hell can I do this...I cant find the options anywhere.
I dont want to creat multiple plots with similar axis, since this take up too much screen space. I want to load in multiple channels into a 2-D plot and scale each channel manually...
Its seems possbilt to do this in the report page, but this option doesnt have any analsys options (cursurs etc)
Can you give me some guidance here please.
Thanks a lot
Julian

Hi Julesinoz,
There are a couple options for you.
1) You can place multiple channels of data on the same 2D plot in the VIEW tab and have Y-axis for each. However you cannot manually change the scale. They are auto scaled according to the data in the channel.
2) You can place multiple channels of data on the same 2D plot in the REPORT tab and have you can manually change the scale on each of them. You can change the scale in two ways:
a) double ckick on the axis in question and select display
b) according to the version of DIAdem that you are using you can left click on the Y-axis and scroll with your mouse to the scale that you want
I hope that this helps.

Is it possible in VIEW (any version 10.0 and up) to only display one y-axis scale (i have 10 )
Same question for REPORT.

Hi Tweedy -
The default behavior in both VIEW and REPORT is to show only one Y-Axis scale. You have to choose to configure additional Y-Axes or change the scaling of any.
