This document is designed to help you create myRIO Expansion Port (MXP) boards for roboRIO.
We will continue to update this document before and during the FRC season, so be sure to check back as you work on your design. If there is any information that you are missing please leave a comment below. If your team creates an MXP board, please share it with FIRST@ni.com so we can share your board with other teams.
Be sure to check out the MXP guidelines from FIRST to know which boards will be legal for FRC competition.
MXP Board Mechanical Drawings
These mechanical drawings include all of the critical dimensions and hole placements for creating an MXP board.
MXP Pinouts
Use the following pins to connect your MXP board to the roboRIO. Note that many of the lines can serve multiple functionality.
Connectors
These are critical components you may need to build your own MXP adaptor boards. These parts are avalible through many distributors including DigiKey & Jameco. Some parts may have a long lead time, so be sure to order them ASAP so you have time to get everything before you need to finalize your robot designs.

Licensing
All FRC teams can use the FRC LabVIEW serial number included in their Kick Off Kit to activate Multisim and Ultiboard. If you would like to use these tools before FRC Kick Off on Jan 3rd, you can download from the link below and use the 45 day trial. 45 days should give you enough time to prototype, test, and build your MXP boards; do not install until you are ready to start your 45 day trial!
Download Note: You will need to Sign In or create an NI.com account in order to download. If you are already logged in, you will go straight to the download page; if you are not logged in, you will be prompted to enter information to create a profile.
