MyDCMotorControl

Introduction:

myDCMotorControl is a tutorial that's been developed to help guide students through an introduction to control engineering. Control engineering can be a complex subject, but as it's used in a wide variety of engineering systems, it's a useful skill to know.

The tutorial takes the student through some basic control theory, before giving them the opportunity to experiment and vary parameters to view the effect on the system.

Hardware:

This tutorial uses the myDAQ hardware with an Elenco Protoboard attached.

To build the myDCMotor circuit for this lab, you will need

  • 2x NPN transistors
  • 2x PNP transistors
  • 4x resistors
  • 1x DC motor
  • Jumper wires
  • 1x NI myDAQ
  • 1x Elenco Protoboard attachement.

Using the tutorial:

Use the tabs at the top to navigate through the different pages of the tutorial. When you're ready to end, press the "Stop and Exit" button.

LabVIEW coding:

To run this tutorial, you will need:

  • LabVIEW 2011 or above
  • Control Design and Simulation Module 2011 or above
  • PID and Fuzzy Logic 2011 or above

Additional Resources:

  • 1x myDCMotor tutorial. This PDF document is designed to be used with the myDCMotor LabVIEW coding to provide a more detailed laboratory experience including detailing how to create the myDCMotor circuit.
  • YouTube Video:

Hi rajinder101,

The written tutorial is contained within the PDF file "MyDCMotor.pdf".

If you're wanting the LabVIEW step-by-step instructions, then you can either use the Application.exe with the LabVIEW run-time or you can download the source files with the full LabVIEW environment.

Hope this answers your questions!
