VirtualBench V16 and V17 Won't Load. Stuck on White Box?

Hello everyone,

I have an odd issue.  V16 and V17 of Virtualbench won't load with my VB-8012.

When I launch the app, it hangs on what appears to be a white dialog box.

The VBench unit works fine on my other PC.

Windows 10 Enterprise 64 bit. Stable + Reliable LabVIEW2017 (23-Bit) installation running fine. Been developing and running applications with no issue.

VBench is only thing giving me problems.

It is visible in NI-MAX. I issued RESETS and REBOOTs from the menu to ensure the unit wasn't in a weird state.

How would I go about troubleshooting this issue?

Thanks,

At this point, you've done great troubleshooting, and I can think of a few more things to try:

  1. Create a process dump file for R&D to debug to understand and fix the problem.
  2. One way to make the VirtualBench application return to "out-of-the-box" behavior is to delete its local cache folder.
    C:\Users\___YOU___\AppData\Local\National Instruments\NI-VirtualBench

Please do item one first, post the process dump file, and then do item two. I want R&D to get that valuable "bad state" information 🙂
