NI, any chance to see 1.8V logic level in a future VirtualBench

Virtual bench is probably one of the most interesting products for automated testing in lab environments. But it has a huge drawback...

Most portable electronics, low power CPUs, sensors, BLE now days run at 1.8V I/O

  • Is it possible to patch or upgrade the virtual-bench hardware to support GPIO control at 1.8V instead of 3.3?
  • If there are plans for future hardware revisions, please consider adding support for dual voltage domains for all I/O.

Hey Davtek,

Thanks for bringing this up. Unfortunately, adding 1.8 V output to the GPIO is not on the immediate roadmap so at the moment I'd recommend a level shifter as a workaround, whether purchased or homemade.

Hi,

I just saw the press-release of a new version of virtualbench. Am I lucky to find 1.8V I/O on these new ones?

GPIO is 3.3V on VB-8054, same as the other two models.
