Simulink connection in External Mode with XCP Communication

Support for external mode with XCP communication has been announced in Veristand 2021R3. https://github.com/ni/niveristand-model-generation-support-for-simulink/releases/tag/v1.2.1
But the help for simulink describes the connection to speedgoat real time machines and not to Veristand PXI. Can someone please describe the process of connecting from simulink to an XCP enabled model?
