Which drivers to use with win7, CVI, HP VXI, E8401A

************ HP VXIplug&play *************

I am currently using the following HP VXI hardware.

Mainframe       - E8401A or 75000 (series C)

HP E1406A     - SWITCH

HP E1410       - Multimeter

HP E1442       - C/A Switch

HP E1328       - DAC

I am controlling this with LabWindows/CVI (8.5) on Windows XP. The instrument drivers we are using are HP VXIplug&play from an Hewlett-Packard Universal Instrument Drivers CD dated 1998.

I am migrating all our LabWindows/CVI software to Windows 7 and LabWindows/CVI 2012 (32bit build). I can not get the HP Universal Instrument Drivers disk to work on windows 7. Can anyone recommend which drivers I should use with this hardware and Windows 7?

Dear RocketBoost,

I wanted to find out some information from you.

How are you communicating with your instruments, through a VXI interface or GPIB?

I have included a link for the current drivers available, for each third party instrument you specified, from the National Instrument website.

E1460A Driver Support

E1410A Driver Support

E1442A Driver Support

E1328A Driver Support

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Dear Mr.

I am new in VXI...   I am sending command to HP34401A and Tektronics TDS-350 via GPIB, but my HP E1406A do not receive comand and report error...

I am using GPIB example coming with Labwindows CVI 9.0.

In HP-E1406A manual specificate to address: 070913 to access ( 07 GPIB Card;  09=E1406A addr and 13 E1411A DMM )

But litle program do not permit to insert more than 30 in addr

Please if you have time, can you send me a example to address E1406A and E1411A DMM ...  mounted in VXI Rack

Thank and regards
