VXI Database Corruption Error. Resman does not work.

I attempted to install NI-VXI/NI-Visa Version 3.3.1. All the drivers for hardware in the VXI chassy should be installed. Max and VXI were both installed but never worked. Max will take extremely long time to load - indicating a problem. Resmen will not show any devices and gives the error Max Database Corruption.

Last night, I tried to insert the patch.

None of the folders in that tutorial exist on my computer. All hidden folders should be showing. I am under the impression I have a serious installation problem.

I tried to unistall VXI 3.3.1. When I do, a screen pops up saying uninstallation is in process (1 of 2) and do not reboot the computer. Soon after, the computer crashes and reboots. When it reboots again, a windows warning pops up stating that windows has just recovered a serious problem - general windows error.

So I decided to delete VXI 3.3.1 and Max manually. VXI 3.3.1 folder did delete but Max will not. I tried to install VXI 3.3.1 again. The installation will not work right. When I click next to install, the window jumps straight to finish. No new folders are installed. It's really wierd.

Please help me and thanks in advance.

A couple of additional questions to help clarify what is happening:

1.  Have you tried to install the newest version of NI-VXI 3.5.1.

- Or have you tried to repair the driver?

- To repair the driver see the following KnowledgeBase.

2.  Can you please clarify what you mean by manually delete?

3.  When installing NI-VXI 3.x were you updating from a previous version of NI-VXI 2.x?
