VME access limitation

Scot,
I have just read through your this thread on "VME access limitation". I found poque's very first question asked on 12/03/04 to be the very same question we have.

[poque asked: 1- the "Address modifier" cannot be changed (AM0~5 signal on the VME bus) to change the access mode (program, data, user...)]

I believe we understand the answer you gave about changing attributes will in effect change the AM, but I want to ask a more specific question.

Can we access and control specifically the address modifier code 0x2F, which is the Configuration Rom / Control Status Register(CR/CSR) address space, as defined in VME64? If so, then what attribute of LabVIEW NI-VXI API do we use to get to the CR/CSR?

Regards,
JDH

JDH-

As far as I know, VISA does not specify the attribute value for this access mode. I think NI could consider adding an NI-specific extension to support this in a future version -- please elaborate a bit on your application and your need for this mode to help us prioritize it. Thanks.
