Resman will not run

I installed NI-VXI 3.3.1 on my Windows 2000 Advanced Server box. My MXI card is recognized by the operating system and finds its driver ok. However, Resman will not run, even when I am logged in as administrator (I already tried allowing all users full control of the VXI for Win32 registry key as recommended on the support site). Running resman simply switches my cursor to the hourglass for about 1 second and then nothing happens. It doesn't even give me an error message of any kind.

Does the PCI-MXI-2 show up in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), under Devices & Interfaces? If so, can you run Resman from within MAX on that system by clicking the system in Devices & Interfaces and then clicking the Resman button in the right-hand pane toolbar?

This behavior sounds like what would happen if the driver thought you didn't have any VXI interfaces, so I'm expecting the interface NOT to appear in MAX, or to appear with a black X over the icon. If that's the case I'd be interested in the contents of the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\VXI which should help me track down why the interface is not being detected.

I rolled back to NI-VXI 3.2 and everything works fine now. Unfortunately, I can't spend the time to figure out why 3.3 never worked.

As I recall, the interface didn't appear in MAX, but the contents of that registry branch are probably a moot point if I have a different version installed now. Thanks for your attempt to help.

I wanted to follow up on this now that NI-VXI 3.5 is available. Although this release is specifically for the VXI-USB, it does work on PCI-MXI-2 and has a few minor changes in Resman and other code that might fix this problem. Since it's not clear what specifically was going wrong with your 3.3.1 installation, I can't guarantee anything, but you might want to give 3.5 a shot and see how it goes. Please note, however, that NI-VXI 3.3.1 is the recommended driver for PCI-MXI-2 systems generally.
