How to Install and Use a Custom VI Analyzer Test

Follow these steps to install and use a custom VI Analyzer test LLB:

  1. Save the test LLB in [LabVIEW Data]\VI Analyzer Tests. You may need to create this folder if you have never installed a custom VI Analyzer test before.
    • Note 1: If you don't know where the [LabVIEW Data] folder is on your system, you can find out by navigating to Tools > Options > Paths > Default Data Directory in LabVIEW.
    • Note 2: If this is the first custom test on your system (i.e., if you had to create the 'VI Analyzer Tests' folder as described above), you will need to restart LabVIEW before performing the remaining steps.
  2. Launch the VI Analyzer (Tools > VI Analyzer > Analyze VIs...).
  3. Start a new task and click Next.
  4. Add the folders/VIs you wish to analyze and click Next.
  5. The new test you installed should appear in the Tests list under the <User-Specified> > VI Analyzer Tests folder.

Note that the VIs within the test LLB must be saved in a version equal to or older than the LabVIEW you are using in order for it to be usable in the VI Analyzer.
