Creating an Account on the NI Community

Registering for the NI Community lets you take full advantage of the community, enabling you to:
- Post new topics and reply to other users' posts
- Receive email notifications when someone responds to a specific topic
- Exchange private messages with other members
- Post ideas, vote on the ideas you like best, and post comments

Note: It is possible to have an ni.com account, but not have an NI Community profile setup. Follow the steps below to ensure your community account is activated.

When you're ready to register, click on the Register for the community link seen in the blue banner at the top of forums.ni.com. You can either create a new NI user account or log in with an existing NI user account.

A) If you click on the Register for the community link and create a new NI user account, you will be logged in automatically upon completion of the form.

B) If you click on the Register for the community link and log in with an existing NI user account:

- You may be asked to complete your account. You will need to chose an alias which will be your NI Community username. This is how other NI Community members will identify you.

- If you already have an alias (username), but have never logged into the forums, you may be asked to provide additional information.

- If you already have a valid forums account, you will be logged in automatically if you click on the Register link. You will see your username and avatar appear in the blue banner.
