USING USRP TO CREATE A DATASET OF FREQUENCY, RECEIVED SIGNAL STRENGTH AND GEOLOCATION DATA

I am working on building a Radio Environment Map (REM) and to achieve this, I desire to get a dataset that will contain frequency, received signal strength, and geographical parameters (latitude, longitude, gutter height, elevation, etc). Please, I would like to know if the USRP can be used to achieve this?

This is possible if you have programming skills and skills in using GPS-related tools.

Unfortunately the measurement software is not open source. but alternatively you can use the rx_ascii_art_dft app. you have to modified the rx_ascii_art_dft for logging dBm values.

I have placed order for a GlobalSat BT-708 Star IV USB GPS Receiver Mouse Dongle SiRF for laptop and car PC. Thanks to your guidance.

Please, I would like to request for your dataset to give me better understanding of the data structure and how to manipulate to get my aim before the GPS receiver I ordered arrive.
