A few years ago I had a need to represent the relative power of 18 different channels. This suggested a vertical bar chart. This is a stock multiplot waveform graph. Then to color each one individually inspired this solution. The data is put into a diagonal matrix. Each row is a plot and can be given a color, but because there is but one value in the row only one bar in the chart is affected. All other entries in the row are NAN. In this example I colored each according to the highest threshold it was under. Running the vi (which was done in version 7.x and will open nicely in 8.6) will put random values in each position.
