Defective RoboRio2

Good morning

We purchased a RoboRIO 2 back in October - Studica Order # - Order #12200 (Invoice attached)

During initial setup in February, we had some issues flashing it but ultimately got it working.

During our first competition at Durham 3 weeks ago, the unit bricked itself between matches, and we had to remove it from the robot - with a great deal of panic and urgency.

After a bit more testing, we determined that the problem was a faulty SD card, so we replaced that and put the Rio back on our robot for the next competition.

At that next competition (Mcmaster 2 weeks ago), after 2 matches our hood servos stopped actuating, and it took us an hour to trace that problem back to the RoboRio. The RIO was not providing proper PWM signals over the port. Testing with a voltmeter gave 0 volts off the pins.

We ended up swapping the Rio out again - and everything was fine.

So with two such incidents occurring, where code and electrical issues were ruled out, we figure the Rio2 that we received is defective. We have several other RoboRio’s which are pretty much bomb proof so we were very surprised to have it end up this way.

We would like to know what options are available for replacement.

Thanks

Chris
