grouping targets

We have a couple hundred strings of unrelated targets, each string can contain between 1 and 20 targets.  Is there a higher level of organization so that we don't need to see a couple thousand targets in a single view?

Have you tried selecting the systems you want to group and then clicking Groups in the toolbar.  It will allow you to create new groups and then add the systems to it.

As an example I have a Automated Test Systems group and a Control Systems group, so that I can organize my PXI systems from my cRIOs.

Is it possible to group tags and files in a similar fashion? I know I can use keywords as a filter, but it'd be nice to see the complete tag list separated into groups by keyword.

Not yet, however we have considered turning the flat list of tags into a tree control based on the various dot "." segments.

So instead of:

  • target1.ai.0
  • target1.ai.1
  • target2.ai.0
  • target2.ai.1

It would look like

  • target1
    • ai
      • 0
      • 1
  • target2
    • ai
      • 0
      • 1
