cRIO SystemLink client settings

Solved!

Hi,

SL18.1

After adding a system to the SystemLink server the server is denoted as in the image below.

However I would like my cRIO to use the servers FQDN. How can I make my SystemLink server adopt new cRIO targets and force them to use the FQDN instead of the current default?

For now you would need to specify the server manually in MAX instead of adding it from SystemLink.  There currently isn't a way to override the failover list that is specified when remotely adding a target.  We can certainly look at adding an option in the future.

Note if you only specify a FQDN there maybe some cases where the target will fail to connect to the server.  The most notable is when you connect the target directly to the server using an Ethernet or USB host interface cable, which is rare in larger deployments but I wanted to point it out just in case.
