What are parameter group conditions Test Monitor of trend graph

Hi all

What decides which timeline parameter values are shown in the 'Trends' graph of the test results when using teststand data model when no filter option is applied?

Parameter name, TestStep name, Inputs, Outputs, Text?

Some steps with show more or less datapoints depending on meta data.

Kind regards,

Are you asking what other data are we seeing plotted on the trend graph by default?

If so, the other data we see is from other runs of that same test sequence where the input(s) are the same. We look to make sure that the step is run from the same test sequence, and from the same location in that test sequence as well as to ensure that the inputs are the same so that we can make an apples to apples comparison.

Does that answer your question?

Hi Brandon,

Thank you for your reply. I was looking for the parameters which define if a data point is added to the graph indeed. So if i understand you correct the following parameter define if it is listed in a trend data group:

StepName

Inputs

Parameters--> Key: Name

When changing one of the parameters above it will group it in a different trend graph, am i correct? Or are there any other?

Kind regards,

So when looking at the trend graph, there is a dropdown that lets you select which trend graph you are looking at. You should only see options in the dropdown for data that is present in the test step you are viewing. In order for a data point from that step to be listed in that graph, the test step data must:

  1. Be from the same test step of the same test sequence
  2. Have the same input values (if provided)
  3. Have a value for the data that is selected from the dropdown.

Changing the parameter values should not switch the trend graph you see, but it will change the point on the trend graph that corresponds to the opened test step. Changing the input would, but not changing a parameter value. There shouldn't be any other items that will change the trend graph for which a data point will be added to.
