SystemLink 2020 R2: How to allow app access to "everyone"?

Solved!
Go to solution

In older versions of SystemLink, NI Web Server Configuration > Applications let us make specific applications accessible to "everyone".  This allowed users to navigate to the SystemLink web interface and see Dashboards without logging in, for example.

I haven't been able to find a similar option in the new Security Web Application. Does it still exist?

Hi JKSH,

The new Collaborator role is designed to replaced Everyone. It is basically allows read only access to systems and data within a SystemLink workspace. To give someone this role you will have to create a mapping to the role in the Workspaces tab in the Security application. Depending on if you are using local Windows accounts, Active Directory, or LDAP as you identity provider you will have to make this mapping in different ways.

For Local Windows you can use the group Authenticated Users in your mapping to achieve the same effect. For LDAP or Active Directory you will need to work with your IT to get a group or attribute that applies to all users.
