relay control

Hello,

I want to control the relay bank and measure across the relay using DMM.I was thinking of using a GPIB card for relay control and DMM measurement. or can i use HP switch unit and relay card. But all this is increasing the cost. Can i find a better solution for the same?
Please help me.

Hi PriyankaJ,

Have you considered a PXI or SCXI form factor solution?  Options include:

a) An embedded PXI controller, PXI chassis, DMM, and switch modules,
b) A MXI controller/cable (to connect to your desktop PC and allow you to use it for control), PXI chassis, DMM, and switch modules, or
c) A PCI DMM (that would connect into your desktop PC, once again allowing you to use it for control), a SCXI chassis, and SCXI switch modules.

In reference to the hardware cost, suggested relay and/or switch modules, I would request that you provide more information as to what hardware your application requires.  For example, do you have information regarding the following application specifics?

OS Support (Windows XP, Vista, Linux, Real-Time, etc.)
Switch Type (External Relay Driver, General Purpose, Matrix, Multiplexer, RF, etc.)
Relay Type (Armature, Reed, FET, Solid State, etc.)
Maximum/Minimum Voltage
Maximum/Minimum Current
Maximum Power
Maximum Bandwidth
Crosspoint/Channel Density
Number of Chassis Slots (if applicable)

Thank you and best regards!
