DAQmx SCXI-1167

Reading over http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/3308 it states rather non-challantly that "The PXI-2567 and SCXI-1167 can also be programmed using the NI-DAQmx DIO functions."

Does this mean that the following (simple example) would work with the SCXI-1167 installed in an SCXI-1001 chassis?

 

What if the SCXI-1167 was connected to the PC via the USB-1600 module?  I am inclined to think it WOULD because of the SCXI-1600 Data Sheet statement:

"The SCXI-1600 is a full-featured 16-bit digitizer and control module for SCXI analog input, analog output, digital I/O, and switching modules."
