Can the scxi-1128 safely handle 250 VAC/rms and digital I/O

I would like to use a 4060 and an scxi-1128 to measure several different analog voltages. My question is can the 1128 safely handle 250VACrms? My PCB layout engineer took one look at the 1128 and immediately determined that the proper clearances for 250VAC are not present. Has anyone used a similar setup to measure 250VAC line voltage either open circuit, or across a load resistor?

I am not sure what clearances your engineer was refering to, but do I know that both the SCXI-1128 and the 4060 have been thoroughly tested up to 250Vac. As long as you're careful not to sink more than .8mA across the SCXI-1128 you should be just fine. Also, if you are routing your signals to the High-Voltage Analog Bus on the back of the SCXI chassis, you need to make sure that you don't have any other modules connected to the bus which have a lower voltage tolerance.

The SCXI-1128 is capable of handling 250 VDC and VAC as stated in the SCXI-1128 Specification document. It is designed to comply with EN 61010-1 (IEC 61010-1, UL 61010-1).
Can you give more information where the 1128 would fail to meet that voltage requirement? Specifically, which clearance is not being met?
