Fourier theory is the most important concept in the communication engineering and also a compulsory module in most universities. However students in university often find it hard to understand this theory due to its abstract nature.
myFFT is a tutorial type of project aiming to help university students understand the Fourier theory. LabVIEW has been used as the main programming environment and myDAQ has been used to sending some sound signal to a speaker. This project is divided into two parts: first an introduction to the Fourier Theory concept and then an experiment session to demonstrate the effect of FFT on different piano notes. In the experiment session a visual piano is created in LabVIEW and users can click on different piano keyboard to display tones in a speaker connected to the myDAQ.
