Title: MyRIO A.I.N.A.  (Anti Intrusion and Non-biological Assistant)

Description: A device designed to watch over regions of interest and detect visual changes using NI LabVIEW Vision Acquisition Software and as a simple home automation system using a NI MyRIO Microcontroller

nsert brief, one- to two-sentence description.
Products: NI MyRIO microcontroller, NI LabVIEW with Vision Acquisition Software.
The Challenge:

The solution proposed is to create a LabVIEW program that will keep track of certain regions of interest and continuously tracked with a webcam. The home automation is created and executed in a MyRIO microcontroller as it has the possibility to accept variety of sensors from light dependent resistors up to temperature sensors. The microcontroller is also used as a servo controller to allow the webcam to be moved at a specified point of view. These system will be enclosed into the InMoov Open Source Human robot to simulate a human like guard.

The Solution:

LabVIEW is a much simpler programming language compared to other programming languages. It uses the G programming language which is mainly used in automation. Also, the G programming language is used for rapid development of OpenGL applications. Raw speed of development is also one of the benefits. We can assemble the GUIs from a set of available front panel controls which is very similar to how we do it in Visual Studio. The source code is written in a similar manner, with many pre-defined components that can drop in from menus and wire together.

Include captions for all graphics material. Type your photo or graphic caption underneath each graphic using this 10 pt Times New Roman font. Embed all graphics. Remember—you must provide individual electronic files for each graphic you include in your paper. Place photos in text after first reference—you must include a reference to all graphics in the text. Include screen captures if you use National Instruments software products. Screen captures must have a minimum resolution of 72 dpi at 100 percent. All other graphics must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.

Thank you for your interest in the Global Student Design contest 🙂 Unfortunately, the project is not one of the global finalists. Great effort, keep it up and keep innovating 🙂
