Project Information
Title: Thermostat Analysis Project
Description:
The purpose of this project was to compare the performance of two thermostat models based on various types of error to aid in a community effor to reduce energy consumption. Actual temperature values in a room were compared to thermostat readings, and an error analysis was conducted using LABVIEW to determine the more effective model.
Products:
LABVIEW 2010 Student Edition
The Challenge:
(SEE ATTACHED PROJECT WRITEUP- ME 18 technical memo)
The Solution:
(SEE ATTACHED PROJECT WRITEUP- ME 18 technical memo)
Using LABVIEW allowed for an in depth analysis of each thermostat model. It allowed for two different data files (excel files containing the thermostat readings) to be inserted into the same program so that error calculations could be made for each.
Nominate Your Professor: (optional)
<insert nomination. Does your professor use LabVIEW or other National Instruments technology to make learning difficult concepts engaging, interesting, and fun? If so, nominate him/her as an outstanding educator by telling us who they are, what they teach, and how they make learning a better experience for you.>
