Measurement of hydrophone signals using PXIe-4464

Hi all

I am searching a data acquisition card with built-in pre-amplifiers which i can interface directly with hydrophones to measure voltages. One option i came across is PXIe-4464 4-channel Sound & Vibration Card.

My query is that can i directly measure very low voltage output signals (perhaps in u-volts) of hydrophones using PXIe-4464 built-in preamplifiers (i.e. without any external preamplifiers b/w PXIe-4464 & hydrophones)?

Thanks

It seems feasible with the 30dB range and the 119dB dynamic range, you should be able to detect uV signals. The choice depends on the absolute accuracy of the measurement required.

Side note, since you are talking about uV signals, every connector could introduce thermocouple effect which are few tens of uV depending on the material.
