Installed ni-daqmx 9.0 / signal express 9.0 on a vista home premium system with a pci-6014 card.
System worked fine. could record and monitor all data.
turned off computer: windows indicated there were some 121 files to finish installing.
turned on computer, and computer hung in middle of windows boot-up.
powered down, turned on computer again.... computer returned to previous safe configuration.
launching signal express resulted in "Initialization Error" pop-up.
Measurement and Automation tool can detect PCI-6014 just fine. board passes test panels.
suggestions?
thanks,
jon

Jon,
It sounds like your Signal Express installation was corrupted. Have you tried performing a repair install on SE or even an uninstall/reinstall?
You can do this by going to Add/Remove Programs select National Instruments Software and Change/Remove. Then Select Signal Express and either repair or uninstall.

That did not work.

Another good step to troubleshooting corrupt installations is to try force reinstalling. Here is an article on how to do that:

Thank you for the reply.
Now working, however as far as I can make out it was the Microsoft Silverlight installation causing the problem.
I installed the latest version of Silverlight and then reinstalled Signal Express and this worked.
