SCXI 1163R

Bonjour, 

je veux savoir piloter un électrovanne (110V) avec la carte SCXI 1163R en utilisant le connecteur SCXI-1326. le problème c'est que je ne sais pas comment je le branche. j'ai lu les documents de national instruments mais j'arrive pas à comprendre comment ca marche. pouvez vous me donner une petite schéma qui explique comment je peux connecté l'électrovanne avec le SCXI-1326 ?

So you're question is :

"You use a SCXI 1163R and a SCXI-1326 Terminal Block to control an electro valve (110V), how to connect the electro valve to the SCXI-1326 ?"

 

 

NI SCXI -1163R Specifications

Refering to the figure 1 page 4 of the SCXI 116R Specifications, you can see that you got 8 banks whith one COM and four CHAN each.

 

SCXI -1326 High-Voltage Terminal Block

Now, refering to the table page 1, you can see that for the SCXI 1163R VCC is not used, GND = COM (common pole of the bank) and you got CHAN(X) as shonw in figure 2 page 6.

 

So you just have to connect a common pole (GND on the 1326) and your chan.

but why their is 8 "COM" instead of 1 "COM" ?? it is not same or what  ??? and the SCXI-1163R is an input or output module ??

Hi again

 

Reading the really top of the first page of the 1163R specification you'll find this

 


Each multiplexer is optically isolated and composed of four independently
controlled form A relays with one common pole per bank.

 


 

 

and by reading the rest of this first page you find :

 

 

 


Maximum working voltage.................... 450 V
(bank-to-bank and bank-to-ground)


 

You can also go to start>all programs>national instruments>NI-Switch>Documentation>NI Switches Help

Under Devices find the NI SCXI 1163R and go to Octal 4X1 Mutliplexer Topology

Here you'll find :

 

"Because the NI SCXI-1163R is comprised of eight banks of four relays each, you can only connect channels to the common channel in the same bank"

 

To resume, each bank is isolated up to 450V from another.

hi again , 

just one question . the SCXI 1163R is an input or an output module ?? and can i supply it with 110 V in the GND point ?? cecause i want to control the E.V in 110V but not in GND !!!!!

Hi,

 

If you simply search in ni.com by typing 1163R you'll find :

NI SCXI-1163R

32-Channel Optically Isolated Solid-State Relay Switch

This is a relay switch. It don't "input or output", it just connect too wires together : CHAN(X) and COM(X).

 

You can take a look at the NI Switches Help>Fundamentals, that explains all you need to know about Relay/Switch.

 

Or you can google "relay".

 

You got a lot of doc on ni.com on all these products and in all programs>nationals instruments>NI Switch .... just search for it.

there is a way to do it, we are trying to figure it out too - NI sold us this exact same set-up to do exactly what you are trying to do.... when we figure it out, I will post the wiring config - if you figure it out first, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know how too!

Okay, to connect the solenoids and power supply to the 1163R/1326 terminal block:

 

1. Connect the positive wires of the power supply to "GND" on 1326 for each bank you are using (GND is actually COM on 1163R) and connect the positive wires from the solenoids to the channels. 

 

2. Connect the negative wire from the power supply to the negative wires of the solenoids.

 

3. Connect the ground wire from the power supply to the ground wires of the solenoids. (you can group the solenoid wires together to run one lenght of wire to the power supply ground). 

 

You need to set up the 1163R to run in parallel mode to actuate each channel independently (installation instruction manual).
