There are links to general information regarding sensors, the NI Developer Zone Resource Library with technical documents and examples, NI's online store for online purchase, and the NI Sensor Solutions Database, where you can find third-party help.

For a generic system that handles a varity of different inputs, you might want to look into the SCXI systems. The different modules available makes it a great starting point.
