Full bridge strain gage shunt calibration

The shunt calibration DAQmx wizard provides the option to select one of the bridge completion resistors to shunt for the calibration. How should I select which one will be used for a shunt calibration of a full bridge III configuration? I'm using an NI-9237 bridge measurement module.

We also use the NI-9237 and as far as I know, the only settings which can be adjusted are

  • excitation voltage and
  • enable half-bridge completion

by right-klicking on the cRIO-Module in the Project tree.

Good luck

Hello Testr00,

Please follow the next guide to learn more about the Shunt Calibration setup for the NI-9237: Connecting Strain Gages to a DAQ Device. Figure 21 shows how you select the resistance to calibrate.

You can also find more information in these documents: Connecting Strain Gages and Shunt Resistors to the NI-9237 and Measuring Strain with Strain Gages.

I hope this information is useful for you!

All the best,
