Can I cascade an SCXI-1531?

I have a requirement to filter my SCXI-1531 inputs well below the 2khz minimum filter provided on the 1531.  Can I cascade this module into a SCXI filter module for additional filtering?

Thanks in advance.

Space,

Unfortunately, this is not one of the supported cascading configurations, outlined in this Tutorial. Theoretiaclly, this is possible in Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy), but it is not something that NI supports or provides examples for. In general, in NI-DAQmx, the first stage module of a cascaded configuration must not be software programmable. As the 1531 is software programmable, it cannot be used as a fist stage module.

Unless you are reaching the maximum sampling rate of the chassis, I would oversample your signal (at least 4kHz per channel), then perform software filtering and decimation to reduce your sampling rate as if you had merely sampled at a lower frequency.

Hope this helps,
