sbRIO 9607 POE Damage?

Customer send FortiSwitch Rugged POE switches to be used on a system. The intent to replace existing unmanaged, non POE switched in the system that was up and running without issue.

FortiSwitch Rugged is powered with 24VDC - they should not support POE with voltage, per the spec sheet.

One component in the system uses a sbRIO 9607, since making the change to the FortiSwitch(es) I cannot communicate with it (ModbusTCP).

That is, if it is plugged directly into the FortiSwitch - No Link LED, no ping, zilch (multiple cables tried).

If I put a plain jane unmanaged switch between the sbRIO device and the FortiSwitch: Link LED, Ping, ModbusTCP all good.

It's baffling.
