how to display data on the screen, if i am using RTOS

hi,

I am new to RTOS.  my application requires some graph to be displayed for operator.  I would like to know what do i have to do to display the graph. 

Is it possible to use a desktop pc as real time target and also for display?

                                      or

Is it possible to use HMI's?  if yes, what are all the features the HMI should have.

Hello Visswanathan,

In RTOS, you cannot directly display a graph using RTOS on a desktop PC.  The monitor will display a prompt similar to an old DOS command prompt.  However, you can use remote front panels or shared variables to display data on a graph.  Using a touch-panel you can utilize shared variables to view data from your Real-Time target.  Using an additional PC you can use remote front panels to view and control your application through a web browser.  The following links from our Developer Zone will help you with your development:

Can you suggest me some low cost ($4000 to $4500) HMI which can display graphs in different color.
