cDAQ Expansion Chassis Compatibility with cDAQ and cRIO

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

If I have either a cDAQ or cRIO controller running Linux RT that have DAQmx capability, can I use either USB or Ethernet cDAQ expansion chassis?

e.g. can I use the cDAQ-9133 or cRIO-9045 with either the cDAQ-9178 (USB 2.0), cDAQ-9179 (USB 3.0) or the cDAQ-9189 (Ethernet)? Or some combination of those? Is there an advantage to USB vs. Ethernet? I'd lean towards USB thinking that it may be more robust.

Thanks.

You can use either chassis plugged into your controller as can be found here:

USB has less latency but Ethernet allows you to connect remotely, it all depends on what is more important to your application.

Does this same KB also apply to the DAQmx enabled cRIO's?  (both usb and ethernet?)
