Temperature measurement with 2 color pyrometer

Hello,

I'm trying to use a LUMASENSE IGAR 12-LO 2 Color Pyrometer for temperature measurement and want to receive the data in my NI cDAQ-9174. I have a NI 9203 and NI 9401. I am a bit lost in connecting them up together and would be grateful for any help. I am attaching the manual for the hardware.

Please let me know if this is the wrong board to publish in and I will repost in the appropriate one.

Thanks!

Hello, prana_k9. How do you want to connect IGAR 12-LO to cDAQ-9174?

Hello, prana_k9. As I understand by IGAR12-LO datasheet, you can connect it with RS232/RS485 protocols. cDAQ-9174 doesn't have these connections. You can connect it with cRIO modules, which have RS232/RS485.

For example NI-9870, NI-9871.

Hello!

I am aiming to connect it via the pins (please see attached picture). The RS 232 has been severed and has been replaced.

Thank You!

Hello!

Unfortunately, the RS 232/485 connector has been severed and replaced with a pin connector(please see attached file). The wires coming out of it can be inserted into the NI modules that I have, basically, the connecting wires that go into the RS232 connector are free of any connector and a bunch of loose wires. I'm just a little fuzzy on getting the connections right from the IGAR 12-LO to the NI 9203 and NI 9401. Would appreciate any help in that regard.

Thank You.

Tell me how do you want to connect. As I understand, you unpin the RS232 and want to connect some of them to the module?

Hello!

Yes, I received the pyrometer with the RS232 connector already cut off. So the wires that usually go into that connector are free. So I'd like to connect them directly to the module.

There are no direct ways to do that, but if you want to do that, you should understand all about RS 232 protocol, and based on it, start to write decoder softwere in LabVIEW.
