Temperature limit of cRIO 70 deg C

Solved!

The temperature limit of cRIO chassis and modules is 70 deg C. Above that temperature, does the chassis automatically shut itself off, or does it keep running as best it can?

I think NI employee should reply to this post but...

Nobody knows "What will happen". In the case of over temperature, cRIO wouldn't reboot, would keep running with no problem.

But reboot or problem might come soon.

"NI doesn't guarantee the operation." It sums it all up.

Hi Chris,

While it is unlikely that the device will simply shut off at say 71 deg C, it is possible that the device would be subject to accelerated wear and damage could occur while operating outside the range specified in the manual. The behavior and performance outside of those bounds are unspecified and not recommended, of course.
