Set password on cRIO to protect FTP - help

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

So I'm trying to protect my 9073 cRIO from unauthorised access, and people messing with any files on it by password protecting the FTP server.

SO I find this link -> http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/21928AC49FB2379C86256BF4006307AD thinking it'd sort me out.

But on my Max 4.7.0f4, it doesn't have a 'lock' feature - its renamed to 'Set Permissions' i presume, but even so, I click that and it opens my browser to this page http://192.168.0.44:3580/#/WIFNIAuth;component/WIFNIAuthPage.dyn.xaml , and gives me this error:

Access Error: 404 -- Not Found

So now I'm confused.  It can't be hard, but for some reason, I can't figure it out.

Hope you can help

Mark

Oh, realised I needed to have NI Web-based Configuration and Monitoring installed, then it worked as in the link above.

EDIT: Pretty lame to mark your own post as a solution.  Murphy's law that just after I post the question I'd figure it out.

Wrong again it seems.  Weird, seems like I just had to sort out my network settings on the cRIO.  Dont need that installed after all.

I hadn't set my gateway and DNS properly.
