Hi centerbolt,
Try looking for it in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\RT Images\LabVIEW\your version and placing it into the version you'd like to use. You might need to reinstall your RT module for the version you'd like to use now.

Amanda,
This library is definitely not anywhere on this computer. Sounds like I get to reinstall RT. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall or just reinstall. I've got a full develpment system here and I'm a bit leery of reloading a bunch of stuff right now. I still can't figure out why it didn't install this library the last time I installed RT on this machine.

Have you installed the watchdog support for Real-Time using the driver CD? I don't recall exactly when they moved, but I believe the Watchdog VIs are only installed from the Driver CD now. (in the Driver CD installer, look under "Real-Time and Embedded" then "NI-Watchdog".)
Once installed, your VI should load normally, but if you're looking for the VIs on disk, they'd be installed at [National Instruments]\LabVIEW 8.x\Targets\NI\RT\vi.lib\RTwatchdog.llb.

I just completed installing LabVIEW 8.6 & the RT module on a Windows XP system that had LabVIEW 8.5 & RT on it. I also installed NI-DAQ 8.7.2. I now have no RT watchdog menus in either LabVIEW 8.5 or 8.6. I also cannot open applications in LV8.6 that reference RTwatchdog.llb. RTwatchdog.llb exists in my C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\Targets\NI\RT\vi.lib folder but not my C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5\Targets\NI\RT\vi.lib folder.
I found the MSI (dmxlvsupp.msi) in the LV support folder (NI-DAQ872\Products\NI-DAQmx\LVsupport) that appears to contain the watchdog items and reinstalled it, but that didn't fix anything either. Any ideas?
I installed LabVIEW 8.6, the LabVIEW RT 8.6 module, and NI-DAQ 8.7.2 all from separate internet downloads from ni.com which should theoretically work, but always seems to have a lesser success rate than installs from CD/DVD media.
I've also tried this install on systems that had no previous version of LabVIEW on it, and the same problem exists. Any ideas?

RTwatchdog.llb appears in my LV8.5 vi.lib folder, but not the LV8.6 vi.lib. In the systems where I only have 8.6 version installed, it does not appear at all. It appears that the NI-DAQ 8.7.2 distribution is the package that should create RTwatchdog.llb in the vi.lib folder, but it doesn't for some reason. I also tried downloading and installing NI-DAQ 8.8, but that didn't help either.
In other historical forum posts, I have seen mention of this same problem in LabVIEW versions 7.1 and 8.2.
